St. Barbara's

John and I went to a military ball on Friday.  It was a St. Barbara's formation  which John and I had never been to before.

It was really funny because it was all scripted.  like they would say now time for a toast. and then people around the room would read from a paper the toast.

they whole night was centered around this Toilet drink  called "the Grog".  no joke it took them about 30 minutes to go throw adding all of the ingredients and describing why they are symbolic.  all of them were alcoholic beverages. champagne, whiskey, Scotch, ect  then they added in a dirty green army sock and some pantyhose as well as a little margarita mix to give it a good color.  then the REST of the evening was coming up with ways to get people to go to the Grog and drink some. it ranged from not wearing the right color socks  to who put the wrong date on all of the tickets for the night. only soldiers participated. John was called up a few times But since we Don't drink he of course didn't go up.

the dinner was really good. the best food I have ever had at a military function. we were in a beautiful ballroom at the Hilton. and we had a good time laughing with the friends we had at our table.  John and I went to a military ball five years ago we both have changed a lot in five years.

We went together to this before we were even engaged.  the uniform john is wearing in this picture he was fitted for when he was seventeen. he could hardly keep the buttons from popping off back then and so this year lucky they let them just dress up nice if they couldn't fit in their class A's.
here is our little rock he love to get all dressed up in a hat and scarf ever since a lesson I taught in preschool.

He also likes to help me cook. we made home-aide gram-crackers.  It sounded good but they turned out to taste like unrizen whole wheat bread.

And here are my three little Preschool boys. they are having snack time.
