Power

Power

these are some good stories. the pictures are just cute ones of Rocklond in some new fall clothes, and don't have to do with the story.
So we had an unfortunate event happen last weekend. I was giving Rocklond his afternoon snack when the power went out. I thought "I didn't know it was stormy today"  about an hour later It dawned on my that It was blue skys outside and that we were in for a fun weekend. John got home just as I was calling the power company to get the whole thing sorted out. well we figured out that something with the billing went wrong but since it was Friday the earliest it could be turned on was Monday for sure by midnight.
We grilled some hamburgers on our camp stove and then it started getting dark. Rocklond was crying and crying because it was so dark. we ended up only lasting about an hour at our apt before we headed over to a friends house to stay the weekend. good thing too because all of our food in our freezer would have gone bad really fast.

the moral of the story is that we need more food that we can eat that doesn't need to be cooked using electricity. and daylight savings time is not so cool.  and thank goodness for good frineds

oh but the story goes on...
we were still staying at our friends house Sunday night. Monday morning John and his friend left for work. I was left at the house with Rocklond. as the guys were leaving I ran out to give john something he had forgotten. I closed the door behind me and locked myself out of the house.  the real problem was that Rocklond was inside of the house!!!  now My first instinct was to start to cry but I told myself that that wasn't going to get me inside.
I knew that I would be justified If I broke a window but  #1 how do I break a window when there is a baby on the other side? and #2 this isn't my house so I am a little hesitant.  I ran around frantically looking for an open window. I could see and hear Rocklond so I knew he wasn't in any danger so I started using my amazing skills of breaking into a house. I couldn't even get the screens off of the windows.

I said a prayer and I when I looked up I was right in front of a window that was just calling to me.   I knew that that was the one to open.  I grabbed a tool and pried off the screen. I could see the window was locked, but I told myself I would worry about that once I got the screen off. I finally pulled the screen off and the window miraculously slid easily open. I was able to jump inside and I didn't have to break anything to do it.

Moral of this story is don't cry when you can Pray.

  2. Wow, another story to add to my list about how Texas Power companies are evil. I'm glad you got it all worked out. Too bad Reliant wasn't very Reliant. :)
